	A Pictorial Family Tree beginning with Henry Fess and Barbara Herring Henry and Barbara had a large family, but Henry died right after the birth of his seventh child in 1866. Barbara married A. J. Richie and had one daughter, Minta Maybelle by him in 1872. Records were inadequate in those days, so Minta is listed in several places as Minta Fess. Minta Maybelle, born July 25, 1872, married George Leroy Kerr on 6 May 1896 and had Cloy Cletus Kerr on May 6, 1896, Lela Marie on March 4, 1900, Charles Simmons on April 8, 1904, and Dellace Dorman on August 6, 1907. Minta married at age 24 and died in 1911 at age 39 . . Dellace was only four. George lived until 1951. To send more information, just click on Webmaster

A BRIEF HISTORY

Henry married at age 39, Barbara Herring (age 16) in 1847 and over the next 19 years, had the large family listed above. Henry died on March 27, 1866, 25 days after his last son, Charles, was born leaving his wife Barbara, 23 years his junior, and his teenagers to run the farm. Barbara later married Andrew Jackson Richie and had Minta Maybelle in 1872.

The group photo below, taken about 1905 shows Barbara with several of her sons, daughter Elizabeth, and daughter, Minta, with their families. Barbara lived to age 89, meeting her maker on April 23, 1920.
