S. Congress in 1912, 6th Ohio district Elected to the U.S. Senate from Ohio in 1922 A staunch prohibitionist, he worked for women's suffrage, child-labor laws, workman's comp. minimum wage legislation and other reforms. FACTOID
Simeon D. Fess's son, Lowell Thomas was elected to the Ohio State Senate for five terms.
His son, Hamilton Lehr was elected to the Sixth Ohio District Court of Appeals. He is remembered by many attorneys as he wrote a four volume treatise "Ohio Instructions to Juries." His son, Hamilton added the middle name "Lehr," according to his daughter, Claire.
Simeon's father, Henry, died when Simeon was four years old and Simeon was raised by his older sister, Elizabeth, "Lizzie" Brown.
